 question on shipping chicks
I have shipped full grown roosters before but never chicks. Is there any restrictions on shipping chicks (all chicks, from days old to months). Different post offices has told me different things like the chicks need to be over a certain age and needs to be over a certain weight. Reason why I'm asking is I'm over stock right now with chicks and need to down size my flock. Just want to be prepare and know my options on shipping if it comes to that.

 Re: question on shipping chicks
The only time you should ship chicks is as day old, and pack enough in there so they can keep each other warm. They can live 2 to 3 days with no feed or water as they absorb their yolk. After that, it's best to wait until they are at least quail sized, where they can handle the stress of shipment, and lack of feed and water for a couple of days.

What type of chicks do you have to sell? Where in California are you? You can offer them as pick up only till they are big enough to ship. I am in San Luis obispo county, if you arent too far I may be interested in some depending on what you have.

ABSOLUTELY, SHIP CHICKS WITHIN FIRST 24 Hrs ONLY. BOXES FOR SHIPPING CHICKS ARE DIFFERENT IN DESIGN, as well
