 Got to hens setting
Well I thought I would give the late hatch a try one more time. Both hens are due to hatch the second week of july. What are some suggestion on feed for these late hatched chicks. Also what about supplements?

I'd like to know also since I'm planning on having one last batch myself.

A good medicated chick starter. I prefer Kent brand but what ever you have available, I think ATM makes one with amprolium and bacitracine which will help them grow better. Fresh cool, clean water. All the green grass they can eat. Keep them on the starter for at least 3 months.

I agree with the Finch on all points except the Med feed. I don't raise hundreds of birds so I don't use medicated feed. I would suggest to find a good probiotic and vitamin supplement. Many online pigeon sites carry quality supplements. Good luck with the little's.

 Re: Got to hens setting
i used medicated atleast for a bit, just cuz cocci dont speed growth, and then get em on an unmed. grower pellet as soon as they can swallow it. i also feed game and turkey starter not chick starter.

One perk to living in TN. It doesn't matter much at all when they hatch, you will grow big birds if thats what you have. Of course ,I try to hatch most early in the year as I do have a life outside of poultry.
